These days I’m leading an engineering team, and I keep a coaching practice alongside it. It’s where the two halves of what I do, the engineering and the coaching, finally pull in the same direction. Lately I’ve been writing more of it down, about how teams actually operate, growing engineers into leaders, and using AI in engineering without losing the plot.

Away from the desk, I’m re-reading Motivational Interviewing (the fourth edition), which pairs well with the coaching side of things. I’ve kept a Duolingo streak alive for over four years now, lately back on French and Spanish alongside the surprisingly fun new Math course. For something to do with my hands, I’ve been building Lego, currently a Lord of the Rings set and the Back to the Future time machine, and I’ve started a Qigong and Tai Chi practice that’s turning into a good way to close the day.
